Manchester United are looking at three players to replace Paul Pogba, while Donny van de Beek interests Inter Milan as they seek a replacement for Christian Eriksen.
According to Fichajes, Manchester United are already planning for life after Paul Pogba, with as many as three replacements in sight to replace the French midfielder. As Pogba’s future remains uncertain, United are seeking clarifications and moves as early as possible.
Pogba’s time at United has always been clouded by uncertainty, owing to player issues and his agent, Mino Raiola’s public dislike of the Old Trafford side. As per Transfermarkt, the midfielder only has a year remaining on his contract, although there is a possibility United hold the rights to extend it by a further year.
If Pogba does not fortify his future at United, there is a growing belief the midfielder will be sold when he still has top value in the market. However, the Premier League side is already thinking of potential players to replace Pogba from next season.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s name pops up again, much like the last three summers at least, alongside Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos and Lille’s Renato Sanches. It’s still unclear who among those three is the primary target, but in the scenario of Pogba leaving, United are expected to hold talks with all of them.
Renato Sanches is also attracting interest from Liverpool, who incidentally are also linked with a move for Milinkovic-Savic. As for Kroos, the situation is a bit tricky. The German midfield maestro has previously stated his content at Real Madrid, and there’s no reason for him to leave now. It does look doubtful the Kroos links will come to fruition.
Who will replace Paul Pogba at Manchester United? Will any of those three players suit United in the Pogba role, or will United pursue other targets? An intriguing summer beckons.
Donny van de Beek is a potential target for Inter Milan.
According to Calciomercato, Inter Milan are taking a good look at Donny van de Beek to replace Christian Eriksen for next season after how events around the Danish midfielder unfolded. The Italian champions feel that the Dutchman will be a perfect candidate for their system and believe he will excel in Italy.
We all witnessed the unfortunate turn of events around Christian Eriksen after the Inter Milan star collapsed on the field during Denmark’s Euros clash with Finland after suffering from a cardiac arrest. Eriksen might be well now after being released from the hospital; there remain significant doubts over his playing career.
It is understood the Danish star will not partake in football in the immediate future. Eriksen’s departure will leave a big gap at Inter, where the Dane played a crucial role in winning the Serie A title. The Nerazzurri are looking at possible replacements for the ex-Tottenham man, and Donny van de Beek is one.
Much was expected from Donny van de Beek at the start of the season when he signed up for Manchester United from Ajax in a big-money move. However, things have not gone as per plans, as the Dutch midfielder hardly played for the club despite being fit and, in most cases, on the bench.
There is an understanding that United might cut their losses over van de Beek and sell him this summer. Arsenal are reportedly interested, while reports emerged of him being offered to Barcelona as well. There seems to be no indication from Ole Gunnar Solksjaer that his future is secure at Old Trafford, and the Dutch midfielder might make a move somewhere anyway. Will it be to Inter Milan, though remains the question.
