Manchester United are reportedly willing to cough up £75 million for Jadon Sancho, as they close in on the capture of the Borussia Dortmund winger.
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United have made an improved bid to sign Jadon Sancho this summer. The Premier League giants were rebuffed in their initial attempts to sign the forward, with their reported bid of £67 million deemed too low by Borussia Dortmund, who value the player around £80 million.
An improved bid from Manchester United, however, will see the Red Devils pay significantly more upfront, perhaps even in the range of around £75 million while the remaining fees are set to be paid in realistic add-ons. Dortmund are currently considering Manchester United’s second offer, with the Bundesliga giants themselves keen on completing the deal as soon as possible.
The Black and Yellows are already scouting potential replacements for the Manchester United target, having been heavily linked with a move for Liverpool target Donyell Malen while Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi was eyed as a potential target as well, earlier this summer.
Perhaps I’m too close to the Bundesliga way of thinking but why does Jadon Sancho not get close to the England team? Possible I’m overrating him due to familiarity but have a feeling if he were already a Premier League player, he would be in there.

Dortmund’s revered Englishman has been a subject of discussion even in the ongoing European Championship. Questions are being asked from Gareth Southgate, who has refused to play the winger in the first two group stages, with many even speculating the political motive behind the decision.
It has not deterred BVB from remaining persistent with their valuation of Sancho. The club is, in fact, in a position to keep both the winger as well as Erling Haaland for another season in the face of the interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, respectively, despite registering a loss of over £60 million in the recently concluded financial year.
Chelsea appear to have given up on their pursuit of Haaland and are instead eyeing a deal for Sweden’s rising star Alexander Isak. The youngster has worked with Thomas Tuchel during their time together at Dortmund, but reportedly has a release clause of around £60 million.
As for Manchester United, they have reportedly identified Domenico Berardi as a fallback option, in the unlikely collapse of the Sancho deal. The US Sassuolo forward has mesmerised the onlookers with his performances in UEFA Euro 2020 with Italy, although the Red Devils are set to face stiff competition from Arsenal.

Another alternative could be Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman, whose agent is pushing for a pay rise, failing which, the player might set his sights on a move to England this summer, with Manchester United a potential destination.
