Liverpool are reportedly eager to sign former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who could leave Juventus this coming summer.
According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Aaron Ramsey could part ways with Juventus in the summer transfer window. And, Premier League champions Liverpool are one of the clubs that are showing an interest in snapping up the former Arsenal superstar.
Ramsey joined Juventus from Arsenal on a free transfer in the summer of 2019 to bring an end to over a decade’s worth of association with the Gunners. The switch to the Allianz Stadium, though, has not panned out as envisioned, with Ramsey being rotated quite heavily while he has also been hampered by a number of injuries.
Till date, Ramsey has managed just 32 starts in nearly 100 games that Juventus have played since his arrival and ahead of the summer transfer window, it is being mooted that his future at the club could be uncertain. And, looking to take advantage of such a situation are Liverpool.
Liverpool are in a bit of a transitional position, as far as midfield is concerned, with Georginio Wijnaldum heavily linked with a summer exit. An agreement to be signed by Barcelona might have been denied by the reports, but Wijnaldum is expected to join the Catalan giants, leaving Liverpool in need of signing a replacement.
To that end, a move for Rodrigo De Paul has been mooted while several others have also been rumoured to be possible candidates to fill Wijnaldum’s void at Anfield. To that end, Ramsey is also an option worth considering for Liverpool, with his history with Arsenal potentially making him an easy candidate as far as settling in is concerned.
Apart from Liverpool, West Ham United are also interested in snapping up Ramsey but it might be a tall order for either club to swoop the former Arsenal midfielder away from Juventus precisely due to the reason that he previously represented the Gunners.
For now, though, it looks like Liverpool are interested in signing Ramsey from Juventus in the summer transfer window. With a little over two years remaining on his current deal with the Bianconeri, it will be interesting to see what his price tag is come summer.
