Real Madrid are mulling a €60 million bid to secure the services of Borussia Dortmund superstar Jadon Sancho this summer.
According to Diario Gol, Real Madrid have set their sights on Jadon Sancho as part of Zinedine Zidane’s potential overhaul in the attacking department. The club is reportedly desperate to bolster their attacking options, especially out wide where the performances of Vinicius Junior have not quite convinced the hierarchy.
Florentino Perez, as a result, is ready to make a move for Sancho, despite the fact that the Borussia Dortmund man has a valuation of around €100 million, though that is likely to only increase given how well he has performed since the turn of the year.
Dortmund were famously persistent in keeping Sancho last summer when Manchester United came knocking. The Englishman eventually remained in the Bundesliga and is currently lighting up German football once again, after initially making a slow start to the 2020/21 campaign.
In 2021 alone, the former Manchester City youth prodigy has been involved in 12 Bundesliga goals while his tally of 11 assists is among the best in the league. This particular productivity makes him one of the most top young talents in world football at the moment, and it is the reason why he could indeed become an asset for Real Madrid.
Zidane’s lack of depth this season, especially in the attacking department, has been well documented, with the Frenchman even being forced to field several reserve team youngsters on the bench for a few matches.
One of the primary reasons behind Real Madrid’s dearth of attacking options is the busy transfer window that saw them either loan or transfer out several star players including Gareth Bale, Luka Jovic and James Rodriguez among many others.
Perhaps more importantly, one of Real Madrid’s most talented individuals in Vinicius Junior has failed to impress the onlookers. The Brazilian has had struggles in keeping up with his consistency while his productivity is underwhelming, giving Sancho the ideal opportunity to not only earn a regular place in the starting eleven but also become an icon for Los Blancos.
Unlike Vinicius, Sancho has a knack for scoring goals, and at the age of just 20, he is certainly worthy of being a so-called Galactico. But unfortunately for both Real Madrid and Sancho, a fee of just €60 million is well below Dortmund’s asking price and that is not likely to change anytime soon.
Real Madrid, therefore, may have to continue shipping some players, including Bale, on a permanent basis, giving them some vital some balance. However, the Spanish champions are also in contention to sign Sancho’s teammate Erling Haaland and arguably one of the most talked about players in world football right now.

There is no doubt that Los Blancos are hoping Borussia Dortmund to fail to qualify for Europe, which could severely damage their hopes of retaining any of their star players and it remains to be seen if they can get their hands on Sancho this summer.
