Liverpool are reportedly keeping a keen eye on Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma over a possible move in the summer transfer window.
In an interview with Anfield Watch, reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Liverpool have scouted Yves Bissouma, with Jurgen Klopp receiving glowing reports about him. The Premier League champions also have Renato Sanches in their sights and will take a call on the midfield signing in April.

Liverpool are currently in a precarious position over the future of Georginio Wijnaldum, whose talks over a new contract have stalled. With the Dutchman’s current deal set to run out in the summer, it has been suggested that he will depart Anfield as a free agent, with Barcelona set to sign him on a Bosman deal.
The reigning Premier League champions have, therefore, been forced into the market for a midfield reinforcement, despite the addition of Thiago Alcantara last summer. Apart from Thiago and captain Jordan Henderson, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has the likes of Curtis Jones, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as his midfield options.
While Jones has impressed and will be a long-term solution in midfield for the Reds, the others will not be so in all likelihood for various reasons. Milner is in the twilight of his career while Keita has not been a reliable figure due to his injury woes. Meanwhile, Oxlade-Chamberlain is a mere squad option for Liverpool, which is why it is clear that a midfielder is needed to replace Wijnaldum.
To that end, Bissouma is being eyed as a possible option, with Liverpool scouting the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder. The Reds were first linked with the 24-year-old Malian international back in December and they have continued to keep a watch on him.
Bissouma joined Brighton Lille in the summer of 2018 and has since gone on to become a pivotal figure for the Seagulls. This season, the player has gone on to establish himself as one of the most reliable players in the Premier League, having racked up 18 top-flight appearances till date in the ongoing campaign.
Apart from Bissouma, Liverpool are closely monitoring Renato Sanches as well, as per Fabrizio Romano. Both Bissouma and Sanches are on Liverpool’s shortlist of midfield candidates and the Premier League champions will take a call on the midfield addition in April. For now, it looks like Bissouma is a candidate to replace Wijnaldum at Anfield.
