Manchester United have reportedly been urged to sign Leicester City’s on-loan Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans from AS Monaco in the summer.
According to Graeme Bryce of The Sun, Manchester United should launch the offensive for Youri Tielemans and pry him away from Leicester City in the summer transfer window. The Belgian midfielder is currently on loan with the Foxes, who signed him on a six-month deal from AS Monaco in the winter.
Youri Tielemans is a player who has long been hailed as one of the most promising young midfielders in Europe. Having started out at Anderlecht at the nascent age of 16, it is no wonder that the player raised a lot of eyebrows before becoming one of their most important players in the last half-a-decade.
He then became a key player for AS Monaco but was surprisingly shipped out on loan to Leicester City in the January transfer window. Since making the move to the Premier League, the Belgian midfielder has been in fine nick, with a solid return of two goals and 4 assists in 8 league outings.
His exploits have attracted the attention of Manchester United and Tottenham, although Leicester are being tipped to land the 21-year-old on a permanent deal in the summer transfer window. But, as per Graeme Bryce, the Red Devils should launch the offensive for the Belgian midfielder and swoop him away to Old Trafford.
The Sun journalist has opined that Tielemans is just the kind of player who can fit into the midfield at Manchester United in the style of play that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer currently employs. The player not only has the tenacity to play as the deepest midfielder, but also has the qualities to be deployed in an advanced position.
Most importantly, with Ander Herrera being linked with a move away to PSG in the summer transfer window, Tielemans could be the perfect replacement who can also boost creativity in the middle of the park. Additionally, Bryce has reckoned that the Belgian international’s experience should see him settle in at Old Trafford seamlessly.
Whether Manchester United launch the offensive for Youri Tielemans in the summer transfer window remains to be seen. But, his qualities do suggest that he is someone that can be the ideal solution for the Red Devils in the midfield, and it remains to be seen if the Premier League heavyweights can steal a march on Leicester City.
