Juventus have reportedly stepped up their chase for Manchester United superstar Marcus Rashford, on whom they are compiling a dossier.
According to a report by The Times, Marcus Rashford features on the list of targets created created by Juventus, who could add to their attacking roster in the coming transfer windows. The Bianconeri have started compiling a dossier on the Manchester United and have been impressed by his qualities.
Rashford has emanated from the fabled Manchester United academy before subsequently creating a lot of hype and excitement around his talent with several eye catching displays. But, the highly-rated Englishman has gone off the boil somewhat over the last two seasons, with regular starts coming few and far between.
In fact, Rashford has only started five Premier League games so far, and a constant shuffling of positions is starting to have a negative effect on his development. But, the Manchester United academy graduate is still regarded quite highly across Europe, with Juventus in particular taking a keen interest in him.
Juventus already have a star studded attacking unit, which was beefed up by the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer. However, the future of Mario Mandzukic is up in the air, while Ronaldo is only a short-term solution for the Bianconeri.
The Italian champions would thus, be well served to sign an attacker who would be a solution for the better part of the next decade or so, be it as a striker or out wide. To that end, Juventus have turned their attention towards Manchester United, with Rashford a viable target.
The Bianconeri have, in fact, intensified their pursuit of the 21-year-old, having started “compiling a dossier” on the Manchester United superstar. Juventus have conducted “discreet checks on the player’s background and character”, as per the report, and have been impressed by what they have found.
Manchester United though, will be a hard nut to crack, if Juventus make their move for Rashford, with Jose Mourinho previously going on record to address rumours linking the player with a departure from Old Trafford. And, with the player still have a little less than two years on his current deal, an exit is highly unlikely.
Rashford may have been touted to leave Manchester United to continue his progress. But, considering just how highly he is regarded at Old Trafford, chances are high that he will remain at his boyhood club despite the intensifying interest from Juventus.
