The Brazilian full-back has emerged as a possible late target for Juventus who eye a move for the left-back before the transfer window closes.
In more late drama at Real Madrid, they could brace themselves for a possible bid for left-back Marcelo, as The Sun reports of a possible incoming bid of £45 million from Juventus. The Turin club wants to reunite the Brazilian with former Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.
A strange summer continues at Real Madrid as they could be set to lose another one of their star names. Marcelo is widely considered one of the best left-backs in the World is a target for Juventus, and the Turin club are reportedly prepared to do what it takes to bring the Brazilian to the club.
The news comes after some reported unhappiness from the Brazilian’s side at life in the Spanish capital. In Madrid’s latest win over Girona, Marcelo was taken off around the hour mark, and this is something the 30-year-old is not used to seeing since establishing himself as one of the most important players at the club.
However, now Juventus are trying to seize a probable opportunity, as the Turin club are suspecting seemingly borderline unhappiness with the Brazilian. The Italian champions are dreaming of pairing Marcelo with his former club mate, Cristiano Ronaldo, and the formula is a winning one, based on their past achievements together.
Marcelo has four more years left on his current deal at Madrid. That said, Madrid, if at all they do sell their star left back, would not settle in for anything less than their asking price. Juventus are hence considering a decent, £45 million bid for the full-back, although many suspect Madrid will be demanding for more.
Despite all the reported unhappiness for Marcelo under new manager Julen Lopetegui, there were also reports of Madrid targetting Marcos Alonso for the left-back position before the end of the window. That said, under Zinedine Zidane previously, Marcelo was considered somewhat undroppable and has the influence in the side.
Marcelo would definitely enhance any side in the world, but there is no basis on his links away from the club. Madrid, who have already lost Ronaldo this summer, cannot afford to lose another star name. Even if they do, a replacement would definitely be needed.
Additionally, Juventus already have Alex Sandro, who is more or less on the same level as Marcelo and much younger to the Madrid star. However, the transfer window, as predictable as it can get, can still bring about moves that could surprise all of us in the end.
