Liverpool will reportedly return to make a raid on Southampton, with the Reds keen on landing Dusan Tadic in the summer.
According to a report in The Times, Dusan Tadic is the subject of interest of Liverpool. The Reds are plotting a £13 million move to land the Serbian playmaker from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
Tadic was then-manager Ronald Koeman’s first signing as Southampton boss, as he made the switch from FC Twente in the summer of 2014. And in the last three seasons, the player has established himself as one of the most influential figures at St. Mary’s.
In fact, the Serb played a fundamental role for his side during his first two campaigns in the Premier League as the Saints played European football in back-to-back seasons. And while 2016/17 was underwhelming for Southampton, Tadic was a consistent performer in his 44 appearances for the club.
However, after spending three seasons with Southampton, the player looks set to leave the club in the summer, having grown disillusioned to life under current manager Claude Puel. And one club is ready to pounce on Tadic’s unsettled situation at the South Coast club – Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool transfer committee were criticised heavily in the last few months of the 2016/17 season, as the club’s lack of depth across the park was exposed severely. Klopp had failed to address the issues in his squad in the winter transfer window, but he now looks set to make amends this summer.
Attack has been identified as one of the areas that need reinforcements, with the likes of Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and the versatile duo of Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino as the only quality options at the Liverpool manager’s disposal for two positions.
With Lallana and Firmino usually preferred for other positions, the need to sign an attacking midfielder is urgent for Klopp. The German manager has, therefore, reportedly been eyeing several players to bolster his attacking options next season, and Tadic is the latest player to be linked with the Reds.
Liverpool will now, thus, try to do business with Southampton once again, after their approach for another Saints player recently – Virgil van Dijk – ended in embarrassing fashion.
Tadic is keen on making the switch to Anfield in the summer as well, and understandably so. The move will help the Serbia international to take his career to the next level, plying his trade for one of the biggest clubs in England while also having the opportunity to play Champions League football.
The report suggests that Tadic has a release clause of about £13 million in his current deal with Southampton. The aforementioned figure is a sum that Liverpool will be happy to fork out, and it remains to be seen if the Reds are able to successfully land another Southampton player.
