Transfer Rumour: Bayern Munich plotting summer move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez

Bayern Munich are reportedly plotting a massive summer move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez

Spanish outlet Sport have reported that Bayern Munich are eyeing a move to bring Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez to the Allianz Arena in the summer. The Chilean international is also being chased by a host of other European heavyweights.

Alexis Sanchez has been a fundamental part in the Arsenal setup, ever since he made the switch to the Emirates from Barcelona in a £31.7 million deal in July 2014. The move has also seen him establish himself as one of the best players plying their trade in the Premier League.

2016/17 has been his best ever season, with Sanchez scoring bagging 18 goals and 10 assists in 27 league games, following Arsene Wenger’s decision to deploy him as the focal point of the Arsenal attack. Despite that though, things aren’t exactly going hunky-dory in North London.

That is because Sanchez is embroiled in a contract standoff with Arsenal, and the club’s failures have also resulted in the Chilean cutting an increasingly unhappy figures as the weeks have wore on. Suffice to say that for all intents and purposes, a summer exit is looking highly likely for Sanchez.

Thus, with growing uncertainty surrounding his future at the Emirates, clubs across Europe are starting to line up for his signature in the summer. The likes of Juventus, Inter Milan, PSG, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and London rivals, Chelsea have all been linked, and they have all been joined by a new suitor.

That club is Bayern Munich, where Carlo Ancelotti has decided that an attacking reinforcement is one of the top priorities for the summer. The Italian tactician already has the likes of Douglas Costa, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery to play on the wings in addition to Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coman to fill up in attack.

However, Ribery has been showing signs of slowing down following a spate of injuries in recent seasons, while Robben is also in the last years of his glittering career, despite showing that age is just a number for him this season.

At 28, Sanchez is enjoying the best years of his career, and he can, thus, offer several years of world class output at the Allianz Arena. In addition to that, Ancelotti is believed to be a huge fan of Sanchez due to his versatility, which would allow the Bayern boss various solutions in attack.

It goes without saying that Sanchez will be a top addition at Bayern Munich, and his acquisition can enable Ancelotti to create quite a formidable attacking lineup to challenge for the Champions League consistently.

With Sanchez having less than 15 months to run on his current deal at Arsenal, the North London club would be sweating over a renewal.

However, all signs are pointing towards a summer exit from the Emirates, and Bayern would love to be at the head of the pack of clubs vying for his signature in order to lure him away to Germany in the summer.
