Arsene Wenger says Asano is ‘one for the future’

The Japanese forward may not be an immediate upgrade to the under-performing Olivier Giroud, but over the course of time, may well adapt to the whims and fancies of the Premier League. The other attack options the Gunners possess are Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott, and both of them have lapses in form and a prolonged injury record.

The Guardian has stated that the 21-year-old would be training with the first team squad, showing how highly the Wenger has rated him. Asano is also set to represent his nation at the Rio Olympics in August, and could gain a lot of experience by competing against some of the world’s elite players.
