Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers if the £38m asking price is met.
Alvaro Morata has admitted that he does not know where his future lies. There are a few complications as Real Madrid have an option of buying him back for £23.7m. He is set to begin talks with his former club Real Madrid as they are willing to immediately re-sell him for a higher price if their demand of £38m is met.
Real Madrid are of the opinion they want to re-sign Morata for the stipulated price in his existing contract at Juventus, only to be sold to another club to generate a sizeable revenue from the sale. He is currently training with the Spanish team led by Vicente Del Bosque and is expected to clear one part of his move this summer (i.e. transfer back to Real Madrid) before the Euro 2016 starts.
Morata assisted Juventus in winning key trophies, but his critics would say that his season has not been completely revolutionary having scored only 12 times in 47 appearances in the season gone by. However, he is only 23 years old and has a long way to go to realise his potential. Many consider him to one day be the leading man for Spain for many years to come and if persisted with, he will reap rewards that will benefit his club and country.
Morata has been heavily linked with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. But Arsenal are increasingly looking like front-runners as they are showing an increasing willingness to start the formal bidding procedure. The Gunner are on the look-out for a striker in this window as Wenger and his team yet again fell short of winning the league and the shortcomings were clearly felt in the striker department.
Morata has said in public that he does not wish to think about his future before Euro 2016 as it could affect his performance in the European championships. But seeing the nature and the complication of the deal, it’s hard for him not to be wondering about it.
