According to reports, Manchester United are looking to bring PSG’s Marquinhos to Old Trafford this summer.
The Parisians have reportedly been told by Manchester United they are interested in acquiring Marquinhos. According to a report in Metro, the club will have to battle it out for the Brazilian with Chelsea and Barcelona. Both clubs are looking to strengthen and he would cost £39.7 million to get.
Manchetser United will be looking to add reinforcements to have more options in defence, with Carrick and Blind often having to step into that centre-back role.
Since moving from Roma in 2013, Marquinhos hasn’t seen as much game as he’d like, with Laurent Blanc preferring to play his often erratic compatriot David Luiz over the him. This has reportedly left him extremely frustrated.
PSG will be hesitant to sell him, knowing full well that Marquinhos is a future star. To let this potential world beater leave to another European super power may prove costly in a few years time. PSG had refused to let the him go last summer but according to the report, could consider a move if a player swap deal was involved.
PSG’s summer ahead
PSG look set for a busy summer ahead, with Ibrahimovic, Cavani, Pastore, Van Der Wiel all rumoured to be leaving the club. However, the Parisians will surely bring more talent in than they are letting out. The likes of Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, Paul Pogba, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar are all being linked with summer moves to the Parc De Princes as they look to strengthen further after being knocked out in the latter stages of the Champions League repeatedly in consecutive seasons.
