Holders Arsenal were bundled out of the FA Cup in humiliating fashion on Sunday, losing 2-1 at the Emirates to Quique Sánchez Flores’s spirited Watford side.
Arsenal were unable to take a step closer to winning a historic hat-trick of FA Cups, with the Gunners falling to a shock defeat at home to Watford on Sunday. A stunning strike from Adlène Guédioura that put the Hornets 2-0 up was the highlight of the match, but the focus following the game was understandably on the Arsenal fans’ calls for manager Arsène Wenger to call it a day.
The Gunners’ supporters were also frustrated by French striker Olivier Giroud, who failed to make his mark on the game, and was outshone by second-half substitute Danny Welbeck.
Fans took to social media to declare that the defeat was effectively the end of Arsenal’s season, while some wondered what this repeated failure would mean for the club in terms of keeping their star players Mesut Özil and Alexis Sánchez at the Emirates.
Here are the best reactions from the game:
I like Wenger, I want a stand named after him, I want him to have a heroes send off. But his time is coming to an end.

Kroenke & Gazidis won’t sack Wenger. One doesn’t care, the other doesn’t have the balls.
He must fall on his own sword. I hope he does. #afc— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) March 13, 2016
Even the biggest Wenger fans should want him gone. He is continually damaging his legacy, and looks a broken man.

Wenger should announce that he’s leaving at the end of the season…saves him getting sacked and leaving on bad terms.
Time for a change.

I don’t follow a lot of Wenger outers. Timeline full of it today… Says it all. Tide not turning, I’m afraid it’s turned.

The thing is, Arsenal aren’t as good as they should be. And that’s Arsene Wenger’s fault.

This Arsenal season is just embarrassing and I know this because I’m starting to find myself agreeing with @PiersMorgan. #AFCvWFC

Can we just put this Arsenal season out of its misery? By far the most frustrating one I’ve been through.

Cant help but think after Giroud came back as striker our slump started. We were on fire with Walcott upfront. Welbeck as well now. #Arsenal

Why buy Özil and have Giroud up top? It’s the equivalent of a U.S military sniper scope on top of a spud gun.

They played with world class player before but now all they can see is giroud upfront. All he has is his hairstyle
