Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann provided a brilliant no-look backheel pass to Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, but the Gunners’s No. 1 could only spray it wide as France failed to score against Belarus.
The World Cup qualifier between the Euro 2016 runners up and an unheralded Belarus team ended in a goalless draw. The 70th ranked team in the world managed to put up a solid defence against Les Bleus’ attacking riches.
Perhaps the best chance of the game came when Griezmann pulled off a remarkable piece of skill to put Giroud through on goal. The 29-year-old Arsenal striker is already a much criticised figure and did himself no favours by missing out this opportunity.
