Tottenham Hotspur have strengthened their midfield by signing Victor Wanyama from Southampton on a five-year-deal.
The Kenya national team captain had reportedly asked to be transfer listed last year, but later decided to stay on at the club and help them to a sixth placed finish in the 2015/16 Premier League season.
However, Wanyama has finally made the move to the North London, with Spurs making it official on their twitter handle.
We are delighted to announce that we have completed the transfer of @VictorWanyama from Southampton. #WelcomeWanyama pic.twitter.com/kLbVoNv4Vw

This move enables Wanyama to reunite with former boss Mauricio Pochettino, who himself made the switch from St Mary’s to the White Hart Lane, two years back.
Although Wanyama’s addition will strengthen Spurs’s midfield, which is already quite impressive, fans on Twitter took this move a little differently. Wanyama had made a rare odd tweet three years back.
I had spaghetti and it was very nice i enjoyed it
