Speaking ahead of the Ballon da Or gala, Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona man Lionel Messi have revealed that they could move away from their respective clubs as they are not sure about their future. These comments have put clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and PSG on alert as the world’s best two players could soon be made available in the coming transfer window.
Lionel Messi has been at the centre of the storm at Barcelona and the Argentine has further fuelled the fire by claiming that he is not sure about his future and could move away from the Catalan club in the months to come.
a I’m not sure where I’ll be next year… in the football world so many things can change overnight.a
“I don’t know where I’ll be next year. I’ve always said I want to end my career at Barcelona but, as Cristiano said, nobody knows what the future holds.”
Cristiano Ronaldo also echoed Lionel Messia s feelings and refused to commit his future to Real Madrid. The Portuguese superstar has been long linked with a move back to Manchester United along with a move to PSG. Ronaldo said that though he signed a new contract last year with Real Madrid, he could move away from the club in the future.
“Nobody knows, only God knows. The future, I don’t know, but I’m very happy at Real.”
“I signed a new deal one year ago but, the future, you never know.”
Ronaldo was at the centre of a lot of speculation before he signed his contract with Real Madrid with David Moyes confirming that Manchester United were interested in signing the winger. Ronaldoa s agent, Jorge Mendes, had earlier commented on Ronaldoa s future, claiming that the Portuguese was going to end his career at Madrid.
a There’s no way Cristiano will play in Paris. He will finish his career at Real Madrid, or he might go to the United States. Only God knows.”
However Cristiano Ronaldo has put his future in doubt and has alerted Real Madrid with his comments. In addition to his comments, Lionel Messi too has refused to commit himself to Barcelona despite reaffirming his loyalty earlier. Speaking earlier, Messi had claimed that he wanted to stay at Camp Nou and that reports linking him to Manchester City and Chelsea were not true.
a I have not laid down any conditions for me to stay at this club and neither do I have any intention of leaving. I have heard stories about my father already having spoken to Chelsea and Manchester City but it is not true.a
However Messi has put the rumour mills on the move with his latest comments and now it remains to be seen if the Argentine does hold Barcelona to ransom in the months to come. Will the worlda s best two players be available in the same transfer window in the months to come?
