Real Madrid aren’t too happy with Barcelona’s recent treble, are they? Arch rivals Barcelona swept away every achievable trophy during the season and this has clearly left a very bitter taste in the mouths of the Real Madrid management. Carlo Ancelotti was given the sack as a result of a trophyless season despite winning the much longed for La Decima (10th European Cup) last season.
The treble celebrations are obviously going very strong in the Catalan city and it is apparently too much for the capital club to take who want to sign, and announce the signing of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea immediately so as to take some attention away from Barcelona.
. Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim that Florentino Perez will meet the player’s agent Jorge Mendes in the coming few days and try to finalize the deal for the PFA Team of the Year player. Los Blacos want to announce a finalized deal as soon as possible as they feel the need to distract the world from Barcelona’s treble. Not to mention, they also want their fans to be reassured that they are heading in the direction of improvement after a “debacle” of a season in their standards.
The report claims that the signing could be announced as early as before Spain’s next match on 11th June.
It is not certain how legitimate these reports are. Much like Marca is regarded to be Real Madrid’s mouthpiece, Mundo Deportivo, and the fact that it is Catalan, has been said to be a mouthpiece of Barcelona and hence any report in it could not be considered as a fact. There are also reports elsewhere in Spain saying that Manchester United are going to play further hardball over de Gea’s signing.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris has been tipped to be a possible replacement for David de Gea who looks Real Madrid bound.
