Leeds United are reportedly ready to listen to offers for their English winger Jack Harrison, who is currently on loan at Fiorentina.
Jack Harrison has been in fine form since joining Fiorentina on loan at the start of the year. The 29-year-old has been involved in 15 matches and has even contributed towards two goals. Despite his efforts, Fiorentina are not certain if they want to trigger the buy option in his contract.
As things stand, Harrison is set to return to Leeds United in the summer, but he has no future at the Yorkshire-based club. According to Pete O’Rourke via Football Insider, Leeds United will look to get him off their books. They are ready to listen to offers for the English utility man, who spent the last two seasons on loan at Everton.
Jack Harrison, who has been a part of the Leeds United setup since 2018, forced an exit during the summer of 2023 following their relegation. The Englishman ended up joining Everton, and he stayed at the Merseyside club over the next two seasons.
Following Leeds United’s return to the top flight, he returned to his parent club last summer, but struggled for game time and ended up moving to Fiorentina mid-season. While he has had a decent start to life at the Serie A club, the 29-year-old needs to do more to convince them to trigger his £6 million buy option.
Pete O’Rourke on Harrison’s future
O’Rourke said, “Leeds will probably look to move Jack Harrison on again. He’s obviously not part of the long-term plans of Daniel Farke. He was on loan at Everton for a couple of seasons before that move to Fiorentina. He obviously came back in at the start of this season and got a few games for Leeds, but then they have farmed him out to Fiorentina as well.
“If Fiorentina don’t take up the option to sign him, then obviously he’ll return to Elland Road in the summer. But I think Leeds, long-term, will look for a move away for Harrison, because I think Leeds feel they’ve got enough in their squad to cope without him. They feel that it’d be best for all parties if he moved on, because he is not going to be playing regularly for Daniel Farke’s side.”
At this point, the Serie A club do not have any intentions of making the move permanent, and the youngster looks set to return to his parent club. However, he is not a key part of Leeds United’s plans moving forward, and Daniel Farke’s team are ready to get him off their books this summer.
Leeds fans were against his return last summer, and they won’t mind a potential departure in the near future. While they were hoping La Viola, who are currently battling in the Conference League, would trigger the buy option, the Yorkshire-based outfit will most likely be forced to find him a new club.
