Manchester United line up €100 million double swoop for Iliman Ndiaye, James Garner

Manchester United are reportedly plotting a €100 million double raid on Everton for Iliman Ndiaye and midfielder James Garner ahead of the summer.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United are interested in signing Everton duo James Garner and Iliman Ndiaye in the summer. The Red Devils are plotting a €100 million double raid on the Toffees for their stars, but there are massive challenges ahead in completing such a deal.

Manchester United are moving towards another promising summer window, where the fans are expecting numerous new arrivals in different positions. There is a special focus on improving their midfield, while they might seek a wide attacker as well as several defensive signings.

Sticking with the midfield planning, Manchester United will lose Casemiro after he announced his intention to leave upon the expiration of his deal, while there are doubts over Manuel Ugarte’s future. Replacing the Brazilian will be paramount for the club, but they would need additional signings to add quality depth. There have been links with Bruno Guimaraes as well as his Newcastle United teammate Sandro Tonali.

There is another name they are interested in, and that is former midfielder James Garner, now at Everton and excelling under David Moyes. Manchester United were linked back in January, although the midfielder has since signed a new deal, which will give the Toffees plenty of leeway in negotiations.

The report states that Manchester United are plotting a double raid worth €100 million for two Everton players, Garner and Iliman Ndiaye. The breakdown points towards €70 million for the latter and €30 million for Garner, although Everton are expected to demand significantly more, considering the midfielder might be tempted by the prospect of returning to his former side and realising a long-held dream.

Manchester United to make Iliman Ndiaye move?

Manchester United are also in the mix for Ndiaye, as they seek a wide attacker capable of playing on both flanks. The Red Devils might make a realistic €70 million offer to test the waters, but Everton are in a strong position when it comes to the Senegal international.

Everton are currently leaning towards keeping Ndiaye and have made plans to further bolster the squad, especially if they make it to Europe next season. Hence, for Manchester United to sign Ndiaye, they must make a monumental offer that will please the Toffees’ bosses, although the player might be open to the idea of jumping at the chance of playing at Old Trafford.
