A host of Premier League teams are tracking Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly’s situation as a summer loan could be on the cards.
According to Caught Offside, Myles Lewis-Skelly is reportedly attracting plenty of interest from Premier League clubs ahead of the summer. The likes of Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Everton are all keeping track of the young defender’s situation at Arsenal, with a loan move likely on the cards.
Arsenal have invested in some of their homegrown talents over the recent period, as the big contracts for the likes of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri prove that. They are also on the verge of tying down another teenage talent, Max Dowman, once he turns 17, as Mikel Arteta is placing his cards on them to shine for the club.
Nwaneri was sent on loan to Marseille, with the teenager already gaining valuable experience in a tough environment. Lewis-Skelly could be next in line to experience something similar, as the young defender could be sent out for one season to play regular first-team football in a challenging setup.
Lewis-Skelly was sensational last season, which was his breakthrough campaign, as Arteta found an internal solution to his injury problems. His displays then have had no bearing on the new campaign, as Arsenal went on to sign Piero Hincapié, with the Ecuadorian and Riccardo Calafiori regularly featuring in the 19-year-old Arsenal prodigy’s left-back position.
Arsenal places plenty of value on the teenager, and despite reports that Lewis-Skelly might consider an exit in the summer, they are in a position of power about his future. The Gunners might be open to the idea of a loan, should guarantees of regular game time come with the offer.
Who Are Interested in Myles Lewis-Skelly?
There have been names like Real Madrid linked with the 19-year-old Arsenal prodigy, but he might end up leaving for a domestic loan. Lewis-Skelly has already showcased that he is ready for the top tier, as West Ham, Everton and Crystal Palace are keen while monitoring his current situation.
Palace and West Ham could allow the defender to stay in London, while Arteta might also be open to letting Lewis-Skelly join David Moyes at Everton. All of those teams have a good chance of luring Lewis-Skelly ahead of the summer, if they can give ample guarantees of regular game time — something the player’s stature and quality certainly demands.
