Tottenham keen on a move for Niccolo Pisilli after failed January move, could offer Destiny Udogie in deal

Tottenham, West Ham United in transfer tussle to sign Mateo Pellegrino.

Tottenham are set to revive their pursuit of AS Roma midfield sensation Niccolo Pisilli, and they could offer Destiny Udogie in a swap deal.

According to a report from ASRomalive, Tottenham are keen on acquiring the services of Niccolo Pisilli, and they are set to return for his signature this summer despite having failed to strike a deal with AS Roma in the winter window. The North London club are considering offering Destiny Udogie as part of the deal.

Pisilli has been a part of the AS Roma setup since his childhood days. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to the first team in the summer of 2024. He has only gone from strength to strength over the last 20-odd months and has established himself as a key figure in the team.

The Italian midfielder has been involved in 24 games this term. He has racked up over 1,100 minutes and has contributed towards five goals. Pisilli’s impressive rise and his massive potential have placed him on the radar of Tottenham.

Spurs’ failed attempt to sign Pisilli

The North London club have focused on signing young players in the recent transfer windows, and they consider the 21-year-old an ideal fit for their long-term plans. As a result, Spurs did try to secure his services during the winter window.

With the club keen on adding more quality to their midfield, they tabled a €20 million offer for the Italian youth international in January. However, Roma turned it down as manager Gian Piero Gasperini started having second thoughts about selling him despite having hardly used him in the first half of the campaign.

Tottenham to return for the Italian midfielder

The decision has worked out in their favour as he has proved to be an important part of their team in the second half. Tottenham might have failed in the winter, but they do retain interest in the youngster and are set to return for his signature in the summer.

The North London club could propose a swap deal involving Destiny Udogie, who, despite his massive potential, hasn’t been able to establish himself at Tottenham since joining them back in 2022. Since the idea around the swap deal is not concrete yet, it will be interesting to see whether Roma are actually interested in the 23-year-old full-back.
