Real Madrid table €50 million bid to sign Konstantinos Karetsas

Real Madrid are prepared to pay a reported sum of €50 million to secure Greek teenage sensation Konstantinos Karetsas from Genk.

According to Fichajes, Konstantinos Karetsas is attracting big interest in the transfer market, and Real Madrid are preparing to pay a reported sum of €50 million to secure the Greek international. The teenager, who plays for Genk, is having a tremendous season in Belgium, as a big summer move could be on the cards.

Konstantinos Karetsas continued on an impressive season in Belgium, with the 18-year-old Greek sensation registering three goals and an incredible 16 assists in 40 games across all competitions, which has sparked a transfer battle of sorts in the background.

Karetsas is already a full Greek international with nine caps to his name, and despite being 18, he already has tremendous experience at the top level. If his exposure in the Jupiler Pro League is anything to go by, the teenager has also been impressive in the Europa League this term.

Teams like Chelsea and Manchester City have already shown an interest, and now Real Madrid are gearing up for a move for the 18-year-old Greek sensation. Florentino Perez has identified Konstantinos Karetsas as someone who could flourish in this Real Madrid team moving forward and is willing to invest significantly in the Genk midfielder.

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to pay €50 million to sign the teenager, as Genk will demand a big fee given their position of power. Karetsas only signed a new deal back in November 2025, which enables the Belgian side to keep him until 2029, while his talent does command a big fee if any of the suitors want to sign the Greek star.

Why are Real Madrid interested in Karetsas?

Real Madrid have steadily invested in some of the best young talents in recent years, with the likes of Arda Guler, Dean Huijsen, and Franco Mastantuono serving as recent examples. In fact, some of their current starters, such as Federico Valverde, Vinícius Junior, and Rodrygo Goes, were all signed as promising young talents in the past, and have gone on to flourish.

The idea of splashing £50 million on Karetsas is a sign that Perez has identified the 18-year-old Greek sensation as a big prospect for the future. At the moment, there is no official bid for the teenage prospect, although one might arrive closer to the summer window.
