David Moyes’s Everton retain their interest in 26-year-old Juventus winger Edon Zhegrova, and they can sign him this summer.
According to a report from Tutto Juve, Everton could revive their pursuit of Edon Zhegrova this summer. If the Toffees do make a move for the Kosovo international, Juventus could end up sanctioning his departure just months after turning down approaches.
After making a name for himself at LOSC Lille, Zhegrova made the move to the Italian giants last summer. While Juventus were hoping he would prove to be a valuable addition to their squad, things haven’t worked out for either party.
The 26-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a key figure at the Serie A club. The 26-year-old right-winger has been involved in 20 matches across competitions, racked up less than 500 minutes and hasn’t contributed towards a single goal.
While he signed a five-year deal with Juventus and his contract runs until 2030, he is unlikely to be around for long. Zhegrova could be on the move as early as this summer, and Everton have emerged as a potential destination.
Everton to reignite their pursuit of Zhegrova?
The Toffees wanted to sign him during the winter transfer window, and they approached Juventus regarding a potential transfer. However, the Old Lady were not ready to part ways with him just six months after signing him.
Despite having failed to sign him in January, Everton have retained interest in the 26-year-old. They are likely to make a move in the summer, and this time around, Juventus won’t stand in their way.
The Old Lady will look to cut their losses as quickly as possible after the former Lille winger has failed to make the desired impact at the Turin-based club. Things might not have worked out for him at the Italian club, but the Toffees are still willing to bet on him.
Given what he did during his time at Lille, the Premier League club are optimistic that he could prove to be a valuable addition to their squad. While Everton retain interest in him, it will be interesting to see if they do actually sign him.
