Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has asked Andrea Berta to sign Inter Milan attacking sensation Francesco Pio Esposito.

Francesco Pio Esposito is enjoying a breakthrough season at Inter Milan, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed. He has taken his game to the next level since his return to the Italian giants, and according to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal are now keen on acquiring his services.

Scouts of the North London club are very impressed with the 20-year-old forward, and their manager, Mikel Arteta, is now pushing sporting director Andrea Berta to sign him ahead of next season.

Esposito joined the Inter setup back in 2014. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to the first team in the summer of 2023. Since he was unlikely to get much game time, they ended up sending him out on loan to Serie B outfit Spezia Calcio.

During his two-year-long loan stint, the 20-year-old forward was involved in 79 matches, and he ended up contributing towards 25 goals. The youngster certainly impressed quite a few people at Inter, and following his return, he has managed to establish himself in their first team.

Arsenal want to sign the Italian gem

Esposito has been involved in 36 matches this term and has contributed towards 13 goals (7 goals, 6 assists) in just over 1,500 minutes of first-team action. His impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed. Scouts from multiple top clubs have watched him in action. Arsenal are one of the clubs that have been keeping tabs on him and are now keen on signing him.

Their manager, Mikel Arteta, is desperate to have the 20-year-old in his ranks and has asked Andrea Berta to get a deal over the line at all costs. His performances against the Gunners back in January seem to have made a huge impact on the Spanish manager, who is now pushing for his signature.

However, they are unlikely to get their hands on the Italian international. Inter Milan consider him their future, and with his contract running until 2030, they have no intentions of negotiating his departure, irrespective of the offer on the table. Securing his future with a long-term deal last summer is now seen as a masterstroke from the Italian giants.
