Aston Villa, Newcastle United, West Ham United vying for Max Moerstedt

Aston Villa, Newcastle United and West Ham United are all keen on signing Hoffenheim attacking sensation Max Moerstedt.

Max Moerstedt’s sensational rise hasn’t gone unnoticed. The German youth international has had a sensational rise at Hoffenheim, and it has resulted in a lot of interest from the Premier League.

According to a report from SportsBoom, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and West Ham United are all keen on signing the 20-year-old, who has shown a lot of promise with his performances for club and country.

After things didn’t work out for him at Bayern Munich, Moerstedt joined the Hoffenheim youth setup at the start of 2021. He went up the ranks at some pace and has been a part of their first team setup since the start of 2024.

The 20-year-old striker has only gone from strength to strength over the last two years. He has already been involved in a total of 40 matches at the highest level and has contributed towards six goals. While he has only had 380 minutes of first-team action, the young forward has bagged four goals in the ongoing campaign.

Not only does he have a strong physical presence, but the 20-year-old is also quite agile. He has everything a team looks for in a modern-day striker. Apart from playing in his preferred number nine role, he can even feature out wide on the flanks.

Premier League trio are after Moerstedt

Thanks to his impressive rise and massive potential, multiple Premier League clubs want to prise him away. Newcastle, Aston Villa, and West Ham are all after the signature of the German youth international.

The Hammers are looking at him as someone who can help their cause in the long-run. Scouts have been tracking his progress for a while, and they are quite impressed with his heroics for Germany’s Under-20 team.

Meanwhile, Villa scouts have paid regular visits to the PreZero Arena to watch him in action as they look for a striker capable enough to hold up play and link with teammates around him.

As far as Newcastle are concerned, they are impressed by his strong physical presence and given his massive potential, Eddie Howe wants him at St. James’ Park. They see him as a high-impact alternative.

While Hoffenheim secured his future with a new long-term deal at the start of the year, that hasn’t deterred interested clubs from the Premier League. The player is currently valued at €20–€25 million, and the German outfit won’t entertain any offers below that mark.

In case of a potential transfer, the overall package will most likely go beyond €30 million because of performance-based add-ons and a potential sell-on clause.
