Borussia Dortmund are gearing up to make an offer for Jadon Sancho; are ready to rival Aston Villa in their pursuit to re-sign him.
Jadon Sancho’s future has once again become a massive talking point. Since he has no future at Manchester United, his agent are working hard to find him an ideal club where he can revive his career. Borussia Dortmund and Aston Villa have emerged as the biggest contenders for his signature.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Dortmund are ready to make an offer to bring him back to the Signal Iduna Park this summer. But it could face stiff competition from Villa, where the English international is currently on loan. Meanwhile, there are clubs in Italy that are also keen to have him on their squad.
After making a name for himself at Dortmund, Sancho joined Manchester United in the summer of 2021 in a deal worth £73 million. While people at Old Trafford had massive expectations from the English winger, the move never really worked out.
He hasn’t featured for them since the start of 2024. He had a short loan spell at Dortmund, where he helped them reach the Champions League final. Sancho spent last season at Chelsea and is currently on loan at Aston Villa.
Villa are thinking about a permanent move
The loan move to Villa Park doesn’t include a buy option or obligation. As a result, his camp is already thinking about his next move. Since his contract at Manchester United runs out at the end of the season and the club has decided against using the option to extend it by another 12 months, Sancho is set to be a free agent.
While he has only two goal contributions in his 25 outings for Villa, they are still considering signing him on a permanent basis. They have indicated the intention to open talks with his camp over a permanent move. Unai Emery is the one pushing for the move, as he is impressed with his overall impact.
Return to Dortmund could be on the cards
However, securing his services won’t be easy as Dortmund are ready to make an offer to the 25-year-old. A return to the German club will certainly appeal to him, given the kind of record he has at the club and the bond with the fans.
Not only did he have an exceptional four-year spell back in the day, but he also recently guided them to the UCL final while on loan at the club. Apart from Villa and Dortmund, Italian clubs Napoli, AC Milan and Atalanta are also interested in his services. They are closely monitoring his situation and could make a move in the summer.
