Manchester United and Liverpool eyeing Khephren Thuram swoop

Manchester United and Liverpool’s need for a powerful midfielder could see them chase Khephren Thuram, with Juventus keen on a new deal.

According to Team Talk, Manchester United and Liverpool could chase Khephren Thuram ahead of the summer as the two teams accelerate their search for a powerful midfielder. The France international has been a top performer in Italy, but Juventus are eager to tie him down to a new deal, which could scupper the chances of the Premier League sides.

Khephren Thuram has been one of those brilliant signings that Juventus have made in recent years, compared to a host of players that have flopped. The French midfielder has been a mainstay in this team since his move from OGC Nice, and is already seen as the centre-piece for their future.

Thuram is already being courted by top teams, including Real Madrid and Liverpool, with the latter now ready to explore a summer move. The Merseysiders are in the market for a powerful midfielder that could see them make necessary changes in the middle, with some departures expected, with the likes of Alexis Mac Allister already being linked with Real Madrid as an example.

Liverpool have lacked a midfielder with a physical presence in the middle, and could view Thuram as a potential option. While he has a contract with Juventus until 2029, the Turin giants are already planning on handing him a new deal, which could potentially scupper the chances of signing the 24-year-old midfielder.

Manchester United are also interested, as they could use their INOES connection, who own OGC Nice, to connect with the midfielder’s camp. INEOS probably have a direct contact with Thuram and his camp, which could potentially help marginally, but the big task will be to convince Juventus.

Manchester United to chase Khephren Thuram?

Manchester United also needs a big presence in their midfield, and have been chasing the likes of Carlos Baleba. They are looking forward to the summer to revamp their midfield setup, as the likes of Casemiro are leaving, while Manuel Ugarte could also depart.

Apart from Baleba, the likes of Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton have been linked, as the Red Devils are seriously looking at reinforcements in the middle. Thuram could be a good option, but Juventus are pushing to get a new deal in place, which could see Manchester United ad Liverpool lose out on the 24-year-old midfielder.
