Liverpool, Tottenham ready to pay €90 million to sign Mason Greenwood

Liverpool and Tottenham are reportedly willing to table a €90 million offer to test Marseille’s resolve on Mason Greenwood this summer.

According to Fichajes, Mason Greenwood continues to be a big target for some of the big teams on the continent. Liverpool and Tottenham are reportedly willing to table a mammoth €90 million offer to test Marseille’s resolve on the attacker ahead of the summer.

Mason Greenwood remains a controversial name in English football, and the thought of any club signing the former Manchester United attacker will surely ensue protests and discontent within the fanbases. However, that sentiment is not the case in France, where he has been a shining star for Marseille since his arrival in the summer of 2024.

Greenwood followed a sensational first season with an equally good second campaign. The forward has contributed to 30 goals for the Ligue 1 giants this season, which has cemented the interest from certain clubs, who might be willing to take the risk on the controversial forward.

Liverpool have reportedly been thinking about a summer move for Mason Greenwood, and at the moment, he seems to be part of their transfer plans moving forward. The Reds, alongside Tottenham, are willing to fork out €90 million to sign the Englishman from Marseille in the summer.

Liverpool are planning ahead of the summer to improve their frontline, which has struggled at times this season. Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah have been underwhelming with their displays, which could open the doors to adding new stars either to compete with those players or replace them, as Greenwood is seemingly seen as ideal for the club.

Tottenham to battle for Mason Greenwood?

Tottenham were also linked with Greenwood earlier, and it appears they retain an interest in the attacker. The North Londoners are in the market to drastically improve their attack, with the controversial English attacker certainly one that will improve compared to their other options.

Should Marseille agree on a sale of the controversial forward, the move back to the Premier League will also benefit Manchester United, who hold a hefty sell-on clause in his contract. Either way, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool or Tottenham move forward with their interest in Mason Greenwood, as such a move will ensue discontent from their fans.
