Nuno Espirito Santo’s West Ham United are interested in acquiring the services of Braga defensive sensation Bright Arrey-Mbi.
After a dissapointing first-half of the season, West Ham United are looking to reinforce their squad in the ongoing transfer window. They are 18th in the league and are set for an intense relegation battle, and in order to bolster their chances of survival, Nuno Espirito Santo is desperate to bring in more quality at the back.
He wants to sign a new centre-back before the end of the winter transfer window, and according to a report from TEAMtalk, the Hammers have their eyes set on Braga’s Bright Arrey-Mbi. On the back of his sensational performances in the Portuguese top flight, the London club are ready to push hard to secure his services.
While things didn’t work out for Arrey-Mbi at Bayern Munich, he revived his career at Hannover 96 before joining Braga in the summer of 2024. He was off to a flying start at the Portuguese club. However, the 22-year-old defender ended up losing his place in the starting XI towards the end of his debut campaign.

But he has bounced back in some fashion and has been a constant feature in their XI this time around. His consistent performances for Braga this season have placed him on West Ham’s radar, who are looking to add more quality to their backline.
The London club have made fresh checks on the young centre-back, as they look to sign one in the ongoing window. While Charlie Cresswell is their priority target, they are finding it very difficult to strike a deal for him. As a result, they have started looking at alternatives, and Arrey-Mbi is quite high on their wishlist.
They looked at him last summer as well, and now seem ready to go all out to bring him to the club. While they have concerns regarding him being ready to take on the challenge of playing in the Premier League, their scouts are convinced he could be a great addition to their ranks.
