Arsenal and Barcelona are all set to face stiff competition from Bayern Munich in their pursuit of Ivorian attacking sensation Yan Diomande.
Yan Diomande seems to have taken his game to the next level since joining RB Leipzig last summer. His red-hot form has resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe. Arsenal and Barcelona have already been linked with him, and according to a report from Fichajes, both clubs will have to battle it out with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich to sign the 19-year-old Ivorian international.
Diomande has featured in 16 matches for Leipzig and has contributed towards 11 goals in just over 1,000 minutes of first-team action. While he prefers playing out wide on the left flank, the majority of his appearances have come on the right, and he has still managed to stand out with his performances.
The teenager has explosive pace, exceptional dribbling ability and the knack to take on defenders. While he has been a part of the Leipzig setup for just over six months and his contract there runs until 2030, multiple top clubs are ready to prise him away.
European giants want to sign Diomande
While the German club have no intentions of selling him mid-season, they won’t mind cashing in on him next summer if they receive a significant paycheck. Arsenal are one of the clubs that want to sign the teenager. They seek an upgrade on the left flank and Diomande could be a great acquisition for the short and the long run.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are also looking to add more quality on the flanks. They could end up cashing in on Raphinha next summer, and with loanee Marcus Rashford’s future also uncertain, signing Diomande will certainly make a lot of sense.
However, both Arsenal and Barcelona will have to battle Bayern Munich, who are looking to bring in more competition for Luis Diaz. While Serge Gnabry’s future is yet to be resolved, the German giants have still made a decision to further bolster their attack by signing the Leipzig sensation.
Vincent Kompany is pushing to sign someone who can give them something different and is capable enough to feature on either flank. Diomande is certainly an ideal fit for the Belgian manager’s system. While he has a release clause close to €100 million, that doesn’t deter Bayern Munich at all.
