Aston Villa and Manchester United have entered the race for the signature of Sassuolo defensive sensation Tarik Muharemovic.
Tarik Muharemovic’s sensational rise at Sassuolo hasn’t gone unnoticed. Not only are the top clubs in Italy keen on his services, but there are also clubs in the Premier League who are keeping tabs on the young Bosnian centre-back.
According to a report from Gazzetta di Modena, Aston Villa and Manchester United have recently entered the race for the 22-year-old, who could soon make the jump to a bigger club. The interest in his services keeps increasing with every passing matchday.
Muharemovic was a part of the Juventus youth setup, but he ended up joining Sassuolo in search of regular first-team action. While he initially joined them on loan, the move was made permanent last summer following an impressive debut campaign.
The young centre-back has been in impressive form since the start of the new season. He has been involved in 13 league games and has even contributed towards four goals. While the 22-year-old’s contract at the Italian club runs until the summer of 2031, he might not be around for long, given the number of clubs that are after him.
Premier League duo keen on Muharemovic
Aston Villa and Manchester United are just entered the race for his signature. Unai Emery has done wonders at the Birmingham-based club, and in order to further bolster his squad, he wants to add more quality at the back. They want to bring in a young defender who can help them in the long run.
They consider Muharemovic an ideal fit because of his ability to play out from the back and his strong physical presence. More importantly, his maturity has impressed one and all.
The Red Devils are also looking to add him to their squad with an eye on the future. The Red Devils had sent officials to Italy to watch the 22-year-old in action against Bologna on Sunday. Not only did he have an impressive outing defensively, Muharemovic even bagged a goal, helping his team secure a point.
United consider him an ideal fit for Ruben Amorim’s three-man defence and seem ready to compete with other top clubs for his signature.
