Ethan Nwaneri agrees personal terms with Bournemouth for January loan move

Ethan Nwaneri has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Bournemouth, with a loan move in the pipeline for the Arsenal teenager.

According to Topskills Sports UK, Bournemouth have managed an agreement on personal terms with 18-year-old Arsenal prodigy Ethan Nwaneri. The teenager has experienced reduced game time under Mikel Arteta, with the North Londoners open to accepting a loan offer to help aid his development.

Ethan Nwaneri is widely considered one of the promising players coming out of the Hale End Academy of Arsenal. Back in 2022, he became the youngest ever debutant in the Premier League when he came off the bench in a win over Brentford.

While Mikel Arteta did not feel he was ready for regular action, it was only until last season that the Gunners boss began using Nwaneri with regularity. Given his talent and the raft of attacking injuries in the side last term, Arteta gave the teenager plenty of opportunities to shine, and he did.

Despite speculation during the summer over his contract, Ethan Nwaneri signed a new long-term deal at the Emirates to commit his future to Arsenal. However, the new season has brought different scenarios, as the 18-year-old Arsenal prodigy has only appeared six times in the Premier League this term, the club might consider loan approaches in January.

Nwaneri needs to play to aid his development, as the competition for places in this Arsenal side may be too difficult to overcome, at least this season. Arsenal never planned to sell Nwaneri last summer despite a host of big teams showing an interest, and they are steady on their stance, but they could accept a loan move as the most ideal solution at present.

Ethan Nwaneri to join Bournemouth?

As per the story, Nwaneri has reached an agreement on personal terms with Bournemouth over a loan move ahead of the January window. Manchester City are closing in on siging Antoine Semenyo, and the departure of the Ghanaian international could increase the need for a short-term solution in the attack at the very least, although the Cherries are also eyeing Brennan Johnson as his replacement.

As for Ethan Nwaneri, working closely with a manager of Andoni Iraola’s ilk would help him aid his development. The fact that Arteta considers the 18-year-old a big talent for the short and long-term future of Arsenal, he cannot offer him regular game time at the moment, which would make a loan departure seem ideal for the player.
