Arsenal, Tottenham ponder €40 million move for Aleksandar Stankovic

Arsenal and Tottenham are considering making offers in the region of €40 million for Club Brugge midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic, with Inter Milan holding all the cards.

According to Inter Live, Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in signing Aleksandar Stankovic in the future, although Inter Milan hold all the cards in deciding the Serb’s future. Currently, the North London giants are ready to fork out €40 million for the Club Brugge star, but the Nerazzurri are yet to decide on the outcome.

Aleksandar Stankovic came into the spotlight recently when Arsenal took on Club Brugge, with the midfielder putting in an impressive display in the loss. The 20-year-old midfielder, the son of former Inter Milan star Dejan Stankovic, has already shown he has a big future in the game, as Inter Milan holds all the cards to his future.

Inter Milan sold him to Club Brugge in the summer for a reported €10 million fee, but hold a buy-back clause for 2026 and 2027. Next summer, the clause will be worth a reported €23 million, which will increase to €26 million in 2027, with the Nerazzurri tipped to bring him back to the club next summer.

Inter Milan manager Christian Chivu knows Aleksandar Stankovic all too well from their time together in the Inter Milan youth setup. The Serie A giants view him as a future of their midfield, but there is pressure growing from elsewhere as Arsenal and Tottenham are showing big interest.

Arsenal have been interested in Stankovic of late, as Mikel Arteta continues to look for a young midfield option to join the team. The profile of the 20-year-old midfielder fits well into what the Gunners want, although they face complications due to Inter Milan’s presence in any deal.

Arsenal, Tottenham are readying offers, but will Inter Milan sell?

Tottenham are also interested alongside their North London rivals Arsenal, with the duo now ready to launch a €40 million offer to test the waters. The sum may be seen as something that allows the Nerazzurri to make a profit should they exercise their buy-back clause on Stankovic, but they are not ready to sell.

Inter Milan will either keep Stankovic for the long-term future, or demand a significant fee that exceeds the €40 million reported in the story. Either way, the Nerazzurri are to win in the situation with the 20-year-old midfielder, as selling or keeping him will ensure there is plenty of promise for the midfielder in the future.
