West Ham United keen on Armand Lauriente

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Besiktas: Group K - UEFA Europa League

Nuno Espirito Santo’s West Ham United are plotting a raid on Sassuolo for their attacking mainstays, Armand Lauriente.

According to a report from AreaNapoli, West Ham United are looking to add more firepower to their attack, and they have their eyes set on Armand Lauriente. The French forward seems keen on parting ways with Sassuolo, and the Hammers could end up making the most out of this situation.

Lauriente made a name for himself at FC Lorient before joining the Serie A outfit in the summer of 2022. Over the years, the left-winger has been a constant feature in their starting XI. He has been involved in a total of 119 matches and has contributed towards 54 goals.

The 27-year-old has been involved in 16 league games this term and has contributed towards five goals. While he remains an integral part of the Italian club’s plans, his future is up in the air with his contract running out in 18 months’ time.

Lauriente has no intentions of penning a new deal. As a result, the next few transfer windows are Sassuolo’s final opportunities to raise a significant fee from his departure. Given his contract situation, multiple top clubs are keeping tabs on his situation.

West Ham are pushing to sign Lauriente

West Ham United, who are long-term admirers of the 27-year-old, are also closely monitoring him ahead of a potential transfer. They have already expressed interest in him through intermediaries. Nuno Espirito Santo is looking at the winter transfer window as an opportunity to reinforce his squad.

He seeks more quality in the final third to help them survive the drop. They are quite keen on adding Lauriente to their squad as he will strengthen the flanks and will also give them another option up top. Given their struggles in front of goal, he could prove to be an exceptional signing for them.

Since he earns just €1.125 million net per season, the Hammers can certainly lure him with a significant pay hike. However, there are other top clubs that rival them. More importantly, Sassuolo want €25 million for a potential. While they are open to a loan move, they want a buy obligation.
