Portuguese giants Sporting CP are preparing a loan-to-buy offer to sign West Ham United attacking sensation Luis Guilherme.
According to a report from Maisfutebol, Sporting CP have their eyes set on West Ham’s Luis Guilherme. The Brazilian wonderkid is believed to be a priority target for the Portuguese club as they look to reinforce their attack in January.
Guilherme came up the ranks at Palmeiras, and he made a name for himself while playing for their first team and Brazil’s youth teams before joining West Ham in the summer of 2024 in a deal worth €23 million.
Despite his massive potential, the 19-year-old winger has found it very difficult to establish himself as a key figure in the West London club’s first team. He only got 144 minutes of first-team action in his 13 outings last season, and things have not improved much this time around either.
The youngster has been involved in just five league games so far, and he has racked up just 121 minutes. The teenager is frustrated by the lack of minutes, and despite having a contract that runs until the summer of 2029, he seems keen on securing a move away.
Sporting want Guilherme
Sporting CP have emerged as a potential destination for Luis Guilherme. The Portuguese outfit is desperate to have more quality in the final third, having lost Geovany Quenda to injury. With Geny Catamo also away on international duty, Rui Borges is pushing hard for a new winger, and the West Ham star is their top priority.
Initially, the Primeira Liga champions were considering pushing for a permanent transfer. However, there is a change in plans, as Sporting CP now intend to secure his services on loan with a buy obligation worth between €15 and €20 million.
While the 19-year-old seems surplus to requirements at the East London club, they are well aware of his potential. As a result, it will be interesting to see if they are willing to permanently offload him for a price lower than what they had paid back in the day.
