Tottenham are ready to sanction the departure of Yves Bissouma in January after another disciplinary violation.
Yves Bissouma’s future was already up in the air as he is no longer a part of Thomas Frank’s plans. The Mali international’s contract is running out, and he hasn’t played a single minute this season. While a departure was already on the cards, it looks like Tottenham are now ready to push hard to ensure he leaves in January.
According to a report from talkSPORT, the North London club are determined to get him off their books in the upcoming transfer window following another disciplinary issue. Bissouma finds himself in trouble yet again after footage emerged of him allegedly inhaling laughing gas for the second time in two seasons.
While Yves Bissouma was an integral part of their plans in the initial years after joining Spurs in a deal worth £25 million from Brighton in the summer of 2022, things haven’t been that great for him in recent seasons. He had a decent role in the team last season under Ange Postecoglou, but a lot has changed since Frank’s arrival.
Spurs are ready to sell Bissouma; Galatasaray keen
Yves Bissouma has gone way down the pecking order, and the duo do not seem to have the best of relations. Bissouma was dropped from Spurs’ Super Cup squad that took on PSG for turning up late for training. On the back of that, he was even left out of their Champions League squad and hasn’t played a single minute this season.
With his contract running out at the end of the season, Tottenham have no intentions of handing the 29-year-old a new deal. He is facing disciplinary action for allegedly inhaling laughing gas, and on the back of it, Spurs have decided to get him off their books in January.
The North London club are unlikely to demand a fee, as they will be more than happy to see his back. With him available on a bargain, Galatasaray have emerged as a potential destination. The Turkish giants were keen on his signature during the summer, but they couldn’t get a deal over the line back then. Now they are set to try again to sign him in January.
