Arsenal consider accelerating Alberto Moleiro move

Roberto Firmino could become surprise target for Arsenal soon.

Arsenal are seriously considering a move for Villarreal attacker Alberto Moleiro ahead of January to improve their attacking depth options.

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal are now seriously considering a move for Villarreal attacking talent Alberto Moleiro ahead of January. Mikel Arteta does not want to leave anything to chance, as he seeks more attacking depth to cover for injuries in the near future.

Arsenal had a fabulous summer window, and they have, by far, been the most dominant teams in the Premier League and Champions League so far. The Gunners top the table in both those competitions, while they have managed to use their squad depth to compete in the Carabao Cup.

Sporting director Andrea Berta was instrumental in bringing in eight new players, which was mainly focused on replacing a few key stars and drastically improving their squad depth. The work of the Italian has been top-notch so far, with Arsenal once again enduring a season with plenty of injuries.

In the earlier part of the season, they had a raft of attacking injuries, and currently, there are many defensive casualties to deal with. With the squad depth, Arsenal will be able to cover for those key positions, and have done so quite well, as seen in their win over Brentford on Wednesday.

However, the way the team plays high-intensity football, there’s always the danger of losing more stars to problems over the course of the season. The attacking areas, particularly the wide zones, have been an area of worry for Mikel Arteta, as he seeks another signing in the January window in that department.

Arsenal to target Alberto Moleiro?

Arsenal had an interest in Alberto Moleiro, with the club now seriously considering a move for the €35 million-rated La Liga playmaker ahead of January. Villarreal, who only signed the Spaniard from Las Palmas in the summer, could be powerless if a bid in the region of €35 million arrives on their table.

Arteta is pushing to sign Moleiro, as the €35 million-rated La Liga playmaker is likely to help the Gunners with attacking depth. His ability to play on both wings as well as in the attacking midfield role makes him the type of player the Gunners boss so dearly likes, as his presence could be a good addition for the second part of the season for Arsenal.
