Manchester United working hard to keep JJ Gabriel amid links with Barcelona, other clubs

Manchester United are ready to do everything in their power to keep hold of JJ Gabriel, amidst interest from Barcelona and other top clubs.

JJ Gabriel is considered to be one of the brightest young talents to have come up the ranks at Manchester United in recent seasons. While he is not yet officially a part of the senior team, the 15-year-old is already on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils are working hard to keep hold of the teenage attacking talent, who is considered to be a special talent for the future. They are looking to convince him that their project is the best for his development as a player.

The youngster was linked with a move away last summer as well, but Manchester United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, worked extremely hard to convince him to stay at the club. While he managed to fend off interest last time out, clubs still remain keen on his signature and are waiting for an opportunity to pounce.

The 15-year-old has an Irish passport, which means he will be free to leave the club at 16, and doesn’t have to wait until he turns 18. JJ Gabriel will be able to secure a move away in the summer of 2027, and top clubs are aware of his situation.

Barcelona want to lure Gabriel to La Masia

Barcelona are one of the clubs that have a long-standing interest in JJ Gabriel; there is another English club in the mix, as well as other European giants. According to The Sun, the Catalan giants are desperate to have the 15-year-old in their ranks. They want him to be a part of their famous youth academy, La Masia.

The teenage sensation, who has ten goals in as many Under-18 appearances this season, is seen as a dream target for the Spanish giants. Barcelona are making serious efforts to prise the Manchester United wonderkid away.

However, it won’t be easy, as United are working hard to convince him to commit his long-term future. They are even willing to offer him a few first-team appearances in the near future to show he is on the verge of becoming an important part of their senior squad.
