Arsenal are expecting approaches for Gabriel Jesus in January, while Ethan Nwaneri could be headed out on loan for regular minutes.
According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal could ponder outgoings in the winter transfer window, as there are a few stars bereft of minutes at the moment. The Gunners are anticipating approaches for Gabriel Jesus for a January move, while Ethan Nwaneri could potentially head out on loan to get regular minutes.
In the build-up to the Chelsea clash last weekend, Mikel Arteta stated they held a behind-closed-doors game to aid some players with minutes under their belt. Of those who participated are Gabriel Jesus and Ethan Nwaneri, with the duo probably lacking match sharpness ahead of a crucial period in the season.
Starting with Jesus, the Brazilian recently returned from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury after nearly a year, and the closed-door game might have been designed to help him gain match fitness. The striker was on the bench against Chelsea, which is an indication that Jesus might be ready to play again.
Arteta had previously indicated that he views Jesus as an important player for the team, and believes he can have a big contribution to the side angling for the Premier League and UEFA Champions League crowns. However, the presence of Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz in the Arsenal roster does not guarantee the Brazilian a regular starting spot.
There are clubs from Brazil who are interested, and from Jesus’s perspective, he might consider a departure if Arteta fails to give him regular minutes. With the World Cup on the horizon, the Brazilian, who joined Arsenal in a £45 million deal back in 2022, needs minutes to stand a chance of making the national side for the World Cup.
Arsenal ready to offload key attacking talents?
Arsenal are anticipating approaches for Jesus, with a few Premier League teams also reportedly interested in the attacker. Beyond the Brazilian, Arteta could also sanction a loan exit for Ethan Nwaneri, with the manager stating the teenager also asked to play the recent behind-closed-doors game.
Arsenal might be open to the idea, given Arteta is using Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze extensively. Given regular play time elsewhere could help the teenager gain experience, a deal could be possible, although the club are set to reject approaches for fellow teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly, as Arteta views him as a crucial part of his plans. A loan for Nwaneri would be helpful, as there are others in the position, which is not the case with Lewis-Skelly at the moment.
