Barcelona rival Arsenal, Liverpool in Malick Fofana chase

Arsenal and Liverpool will face stiff competition from Barcelona in their pursuit of Belgian attacking sensation Malick Fofana.

According to Ekrem Konur, Barcelona have entered the race for the services of Malick Fofana. The Catalan giants are all set to rival Arsenal and Liverpool in their pursuit of the 20-year-old Lyon winger.

Fofana came up the ranks at KAA Gent, and after making a name for himself while playing for their first team, the young winger made the move to Lyon at the start of 2024, and has not looked back since.

Since joining the Ligue 1 outfit, he has been involved in a total of 74 matches and has contributed towards 25 goals. While he prefers playing out wide on the left flank, the 20-year-old is capable enough to feature anywhere in attack.

He has made an impressive start to the new season, having bagged two goals and an assist in his nine league outings. The youngster’s sensational progress at Lyon has not gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs are keen on signing the youngster, who has been a regular feature in the Belgian national team of late.

Liverpool and Arsenal are two English clubs that have been keeping tabs on the versatile forward for some time. Both clubs like what they have seen from him, and they believe he could be a great acquisition for the long run.

Barcelona look to beat the competition

Arsenal want an upgrade on the left flank, while the Reds simply seek more quality on the flanks. While both clubs are keen on his signature, Barcelona have entered the race for his signature and are set to rival them.

The Catalan giants consider Fofana a generational talent, and they do not want to miss out on him. Barcelona are closely monitoring him, and they could soon make a move for his signature. They want to take advantage of Lyon’s financial situation.

The Ligue 1 club are in desperate need to raise funds, and Barcelona are looking to make the most out of it. However, signing one of their most valuable players on a bargain while beating Arsenal and Liverpool to his signature will be a tall order.
