Tottenham line up €60 million move for Georges Mikautadze

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing 24-year-old Georgian striker Georges Mikautadze from La Liga club Villarreal.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham are impressed with Georges Mikautadze’s performances, and they are willing to pay around €60 million to get the deal done. The Georgian international has previously shown his quality in Ligue 1, and he will look to make his mark in La Liga now after joining Villarreal in the summer.

It remains to be seen whether Villarreal are prepared to sanction his departure in the coming months. The 24-year-old has recently joined the club, and they will not want to lose him easily. However, €60 million is a lot of money, and the Spanish outfit will struggle to turn it down if Tottenham decide to submit the offer.

The Yellow Submarine paid around €30 million to sign the Georgian striker, and the opportunity to double their investment will be quite tempting. Meanwhile, it is no surprise that Tottenham are looking at a striker. Richarlison continues to be linked with an exit from the club, and Spurs will need to replace him.

In addition, Dominic Solanke has not been able to find the back of the net consistently since joining the club. The Englishman’s performances have been underwhelming, and Tottenham need another player who can share the goalscoring burden with him.

Mikautadze would be a good signing

The 24-year-old has the physicality and technical attributes for Premier League football, and he could be a very useful acquisition for Tottenham. The North London club have an ambitious project, and they have a talented squad.

The Georgian international will be excited to join them. The North London outfit have recently won a major trophy as well. It remains to be seen whether they can convince the Spanish club and the player regarding a potential move.

Tottenham have started the season well, and they will look to sustain their current run of form. They need quality additions to compete with elite clubs in future. Adding the 24-year-old will help them improve going forward. Tottenham have not had a reliable goalscorer since the departure of Harry Kane, and they will look to address that problem quickly.
