Manchester United and Liverpool have received a massive setback in their pursuit of Juventus’ defensive mainstay, Gleison Bremer.

Manchester United and Liverpool are looking to reinforce their backline moving ahead, and they have their eyes set on Juventus’ Gleison Bremer. But, they are unlikely to get their hands on the Brazilian international. According to a report from Tutto Juve, the Old Lady have no intentions of negotiating his departure.

After making a name for himself at Torino, Bremer joined Juventus in the summer of 2022, and he hasn’t looked back since. While he has had a few injury struggles, the 28-year-old has been a constant feature in their XI whenever fit.

So far, he has featured in 95 matches for the Italian giants and has even contributed towards 12 goals. His impressive performances have put him on the wishlist of multiple top clubs from across Europe.

Premier League giants want Bremer

Liverpool are one of the clubs keen on signing the Brazilian international. The Reds wanted to add Marc Guehi to their squad in the summer, but Crystal Palace blocked the move in the final hours of the window. While they are still trying to bring him to the club, the Merseyside club have started looking at alternatives, and Bremer is believed to be quite high on their wishlist.

They see him as someone with the potential to be one of their leaders at the back going forward. But, a deal won’t be that straightforward as they will face competition from rivals Manchester United. Ruben Amorim seeks more quality at the back, and the 28-year-old is considered an ideal fit for his system.

With Harry Maguire’s contract running out at the end of the season, Bremer could replace him in the team. While both Liverpool and United are keen on his signature, and they do have the finances to make it happen, they are unlikely to strike a deal with Juventus.

The Old Lady are well aware of their interest, but they have already made their stance quite clear. The Italian giants have informally made it known that they won’t negotiate Bremer’s departure. He is one of the cornerstones of the team and with his contract running until 2029, Juventus certainly have total control over his future.
