Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are gearing up to make an offer for Inter Milan defensive mainstay Federico Dimarco.

According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of Federico Dimarco, and they are gearing up to make an offer for the Inter Milan full-back. Ruben Amorim seeks more quality at the back and considers the Italian international an ideal fit for his system.

Dimarco has come up the ranks at Inter Milan. While he has had quite a few spells away from the club, the 27-year-old has been one of their mainstays in recent seasons. The attacking full-back was involved in a total of 52 matches last season, and he ended up contributing towards 15 goals.

While he prefers playing as a full-back, he is equally effective in the wing-back role. He has flourished as a wing-back in the Inter setup over the last few seasons, thanks to his ability to create in the final third and his solidity in defence.

Dimarco is widely regarded as one of the best in his position, and multiple top clubs are interested in his services. With his contract running out in 2027, his future has become a massive talking point. The report suggests Inter are willing to negotiate his departure in the winter transfer window.

United want to sign Dimarco

With Christian Chivu preferring Carlos Augusto over Dimarco, Inter could look to cash in on the 27-year-old, who will only have 18 months left on his deal at the turn of the calendar. While multiple top clubs have been linked with him, Manchester United have emerged as a potential destination for the Inter mainstay.

The Red Devils invested big bucks to bolster their attack during the summer, and now Ruben Amorim is looking to strengthen other areas on the pitch. He seeks more quality for the left wing-back role, and Dimarco is seen as a perfect fit for his system and the club’s project.

The Portuguese manager believes the 27-year-old could straightaway slot into his starting XI, and he will be a significant upgrade over Patrick Dorgu. While Luke Shaw has often been deployed as a left-sided centre-back, Dimarco’s arrival could actually result in his potential departure.

United are keen on signing the Italian defender, and Inter Milan are willing to negotiate. As a result, this is certainly one to watch out for. It will be interesting to see if United actually table an offer in the winter window.
