Rodrygo Goes’ agent has requested meetings with Arsenal and Liverpool to explore a move for the disgruntled Real Madrid star.
According to Indykaila News, Arsenal and Liverpool are set to meet with Rodrygo Goes’ agent to explore a move for the attacker. The meeting could take place in London at the request of the Brazilian representative, as the 24-year-old’s Real Madrid future seems to be in jeopardy.
Real Madrid opened their La Liga account with a narrow 1-0 win over Osasuna courtesy of a Kylian Mbappe penalty. Over in England, fans of Arsenal and Liverpool had a close eye on the substitutes bench at the Bernabeu to find out whether Rodrygo Goes would make an appearance, which he didn’t.
It’s another sign from Xabi Alonso over his preference, as given the game was not done and dusted from a Real Madrid perspective, the arrival of Rodrygo might have helped them in some regard. The player is reportedly leaning towards leaving Real Madrid, and his next destination could be England.
Manchester City were ready to sign him had they sold Savinho, although Pep Guardiola is now reportedly leaning towards keeping the Brazilian. Hence, in what may come as a major update on Rodrygo’s situation, his agent has flown into London to explore new possibilities.
The agent has reportedly requested meetings with Arsenal and Liverpool to explore the possibility for his client to join one of those teams. At the moment, those might be the best teams available for a player of the 24-year-old’s stature.
Will Arsenal and Liverpool make Rodrygo moves?
Arsenal and Liverpool are in the mix for Rodrygo, but so far, neither have shown any sense of urgency to get a deal in place with Real Madrid. Following the opening La Liga game, things with the 24-year-old might have changed, and much will depend on the meeting with his agent.
There’s a big possibility that one of those teams could explore a late move. Liverpool are somewhat lacking on the wings following the departure of Luis Diaz, and while they are embroiled in a move for Alexander Isak, they could explore a move for Rodrygo.
As for Arsenal, as per the latest update from Davi Ornstein, they are closing in on Eberechi Eze, and that could potentially impact any move for Rodrygo. The 24-year-old could still be on their agenda if they can get a few players off their books, but for now, any move to the Emirates looks unlikely.
