Tottenham have an agreement with Crystal Palace for Eberechi Eze, but the move depends on the Eagles securing a replacement.
According to Ben Jacobs, Eberechi Eze could end up joining Tottenham Hotspur in the final phase of the transfer window, as they have reached an agreement in principle with Crystal Palace. While the fee has been agreed, the move will only go through once the Eagles secure an ideal replacement.
Eze’s future has been one of the biggest talking points this summer. While he still has two years remaining on his deal at Selhurst Park, the 27-year-old is keen on joining a bigger club. Several Premier League giants have pursued his signature, but Palace have proven difficult to negotiate with.
The English international is widely regarded as one of the best attacking midfielders, and it is quite evident that the Eagles have been reluctant to sell. However, with Eze’s heart set on a move away, holding onto him doesn’t really make sense.
While Arsenal were interested in acquiring his services, they eventually pulled out of the race, leaving rivals Tottenham in pole position to sign him. The North London club are keen on signing the 27-year-old, who is capable enough to feature anywhere in attack.
Following Son Heung-min’s departure and a long-term injury to James Maddison, Thomas Frank is desperate to have more firepower in the final third. He is a big admirer of Eze and believes he could do wonders for them.
Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign Eze
They have been working on a potential transfer for weeks and have finally managed to strike a deal with Palace. Spurs have agreed a deal in principle with the Eagles, and they already have the green light from the players’ end.
