Juanlu Sanchez have no interest in joining Everton as things stand, with the Sevilla defender now pushing to join Serie A champions Napoli.
According to Estadio Deportivo via Sport Witness, Juanlu Sanchez is uninterested in signing for Everton and continues to push to join Serie A champions Napoli. Sevilla are eager for the defender to make his move to the Premier League for financial reasons, and they might now be forced to accept Napoli’s offer for the Spaniard.
Juanlu Sanchez has come through the ranks at Sevilla and could become their next departure as they scramble to raise funds. The Andalusian club are not in the most healthy financial position, and they may once again rely on sales to raise money for new incomings.
The sale of Juanlu would allow them a bit more room to maneuver, given that the right-back is considered a homegrown star and his sale will be seen as pure profit. There are some clubs interested in the defender, with Everton one of those keen to sign him.
The report does dismiss the interest from Everton for the 21-year-old Olympics 2024 gold medalist, although they do mention that Sevilla had accepted a bid from Wolves. The Spanish side were pushing for the defender to join the Premier League outfit and held a key meeting with Juanlu recently, as the right-back wants to join Serie A champions Napoli.
Napoli have tabled an improved bid of €17 million to be paid in four installments as per the report, which Sevilla might reluctantly accept owing to the player’s preference. The report mentions that Everton’s name has been used by those close to Sevilla to create drama and force Napoli to pay close to what Los Nervionenses want.
Everton’s transfer plans
Everton are moving well in the market with some key signings on their horizon. They have already signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and while they might have held soft interest in Juanlu, David Moyes might look to bring in a new right-back this summer.
The Toffees opened talks for Jack Grealish to bring the Manchester City outcast on loan, and that deal might have serious legs. They are also chasing Tyler Dibling, with the player keen on the switch from Southampton despite the Saints turning down a second bid from Everton. Overall, Moyes’s side are showing plenty of ambition in the window, and they may end up bringing in key reinforcements before the deadline.
