Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid are reportedly plotting a raid on Arsenal for their 15-year-old attacking sensation Max Dowman.
Real Madrid are always on the lookout for young players with massive potential, and they seem to have found a gem at Arsenal in Max Dowman. According to a report from Defensa Central, Los Blancos are keen on acquiring the services of the English youth international.
Dowman has been a part of the Arsenal youth setup since the start. He is currently a part of their Under-18s and has been doing wonders for them at the youth level. He was involved in a total of 22 Under-18 Premier League games last season and ended up contributing towards 27 goals.
While he prefers playing as a number ten, Dowman is very capable of featuring out wide on the right flank as well as in a deeper role in midfield. His ability to control the tempo of the game and his composure on the ball have not gone unnoticed.
His technique, vision and maturity of the pitch are reasons why he is widely regarded as one of the most exciting players of his generation. His performances at the youth level and his versatility have put him on the radar of Real Madrid.
Real Madrid to step up their pursuit of Dowman
While there are other top clubs who have taken note of his impressive rise, Los Blancos seem very keen on adding him to their team with an eye on the future. Real Madrid’s scouts have been keeping a close eye on him for months, and in an attempt to beat the competition, the Spanish giants could soon make a move.
The 2009-born sensation’s profile is a perfect fit for Real Madrid’s recruitment philosophy. They are always trying to snap up the best young talents, and Dowman is certainly right up there. While he is still a minor, transfer market rules do allow an international move under certain conditions.
The team in white are gearing up to knock on Arsenal’s door in the near future. For now, they will continue to monitor him as they do not intend on making a massive offer for him just yet. But things could change in the neatr future.
Interest from Real Madrid will certainly excite Dowman, but the North London club will try their best to hold onto the 15-year-old as they believe he could soon break into the first team.
