Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are gearing up to make a €25 million bid for Valencia midfield sensation Javi Guerra.
According to a report from Marca, Javi Guerra could end up parting ways with Valencia this summer, having turned down a renewal offer from the club. Manchester United are keeping a close eye on the player’s situation, and they are preparing an offer worth €25 million.
Guerra joined the Valencia youth setup back in 2019 from Villarreal. He went up the ranks at some pace and has been a part of their first team since the summer of 2023. Not only has he established himself as a key figure in their team, but he is widely regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Spain.
While the 22-year-old prefers playing as a central midfielder, he is capable enough to feature in any role in the centre of the park. Last season, he was involved in a total of 36 league games and even contributed towards six goals.
With just two years left on his deal, Valencia are working on a new deal as they want to secure his long-term future. While they did table an offer just under a week back, Guerra has turned it down. The Spanish club are ready to build their sporting project around him, but the offer on the table wasn’t good enough.
The player and his agents did analyse the offer calmly, but they expected something better. While Valencia can certainly return with a better proposal, clubs from across Europe have already taken note of his situation.
United are ready to knock on Valencia’s door
Manchester United are one of the clubs that want to make the most out of it. They continue to work behind the scenes to sign the 22-year-old, as Ruben Amorim has requested the signing of a versatile midfielder.
Guerra would not only add more depth and quality to United’s midfield, but he could also become one of their mainstays in the long run. If Valencia were to sell the youngster, they would ideally want an offer in excess of €27 million, as Villarreal still own 30% of his rights.
They want to earn at least €20 million from the sale after giving the Yellow Submarine their share. Meanwhile, United are preparing a €25 million offer, which is certainly very close to what Valencia would like. As a result, the negotiations could certainly move forward.
