Liverpool ready to endlessly thwart Bayern Munich off Luis Diaz

Liverpool remain firm in their stance and have no intention of entertaining talks with Bayern Munich over Luis Diaz’s potential departure.

According to Ben Jacobs, Liverpool have no intentions of negotiating Luis Diaz’s departure. While Bayern Munich are very keen on signing the Colombian international, the Reds are prepared to continually fend off interest from the German giants.

After making a name for himself at FC Porto, Diaz joined the Merseyside club at the start of 2022. The South American attacker has only gone from strength to strength over the years, and he has established himself as a key figure in the team.

He was ever present in Arne Slot’s XI last season. The 28-year-old was involved in a total of 50 matches, and he ended up contributing towards 25 goals (17 goals, 8 assists). While he remains an integral part of Slot’s plans and still has two years left on his deal, his future has been a big talking point throughout the summer.

Talks over a potential new deal have not gone according to plan, and Diaz feels he is underpaid at the Merseyside club. As a result, multiple top clubs are looking to make the most out of a potential opportunity to lure him away from Anfield.

Bayern Munich unlikely to sign Luis Diaz

Barcelona and Bayern Munich are two clubs that have been extensively linked with the Colombian international. While the Catalan giants have financial concerns and won’t find it that easy to strike a deal with Liverpool, Bayern have been making moves in recent weeks.

Following Jamal Musiala’s injury at the Club World Cup, the German club are looking for more quality on the left flank and consider Diaz an ideal fit for their project. While they have been pushing to negotiate with Liverpool, the Reds have refused to engage in talks.

The Merseyside club have maintained their stance that Diaz is not for sale and have rebuffed all advances so far. They have not received any official bids yet, and there is zero engagement or encouragement from the Reds. With the Premier League giants not looking to sit at the negotiation table, Bayern Munich might have to look at other targets.
